Were you aware that Tumalo, Oregon was originally named Laidlaw, after the town’s promoter W.A. Laidlaw? In 1915, Laidlaw’s townspeople renamed the community Tumalo. Tumolo means wild plum, which is a common shrub found in central Oregon. Tumalo is well known for its horse properties.
