Q. What is a STaSIS high-bias Torsen?
A. The STaSIS high-bias Torsen changes the torque bias ratio of the center differential from 2:1 to 4:1. The torque bias ratio represents how much more torque can be distributed to the front or rear of the vehicle (whichever has more traction). The high-bias Torsen has the ability to send an additional 14% of torque to the front or rear of the vehicle. So the Quattro car becomes more front wheel drive and more rear wheel drive depending on traction. This minimizes understeer on corner exit and allows more power to be used before being limited by wheel traction or electronic stability protection (ESP).
Q. What type of limited slip differential do you offer?
A. We currently offer a custom 4-plate rear lsd (limited
slip differential) that is a clutch type differential. These
differentials are configured for 60% lockup (can be higher
if customer requests) and are a direct replacement for the
OEM open rear differential. The clutch type differential offers
a speed sensing differential working in tandem with the torque
sensing (Torsen) center differential.
