Audi – Truth In Engineering (Vorsprung Durch Technik)

Audi is a member of the Volkswagen Group and is located in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. The origins of the company date back to engineer August Horch (and Audiwerke), which along with manufacturers DKW and Wanderer, led to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern era of Audi began in the 1960s when Auto Union was acquired by Volkswagen from Daimler-Benz. The four rings of the Audi logo represent Horch, Audi, DKW, and Wanderer. The name Audi is based on the Latin translation of August Horch’s surname. “Horch,” meaning “listen” in German, becomes “Audi” in Latin. Here’s an informative video on the Audi Quattro story;

As VW’s big brother, our enthusiasm for Audi’s was a natural progression for Matrix Integrated. Audi started bringing in performance models to the USA with the UrS4, patterned after their rallying and touring car championships. However, it wasn’t until the B5 S4 2.7T arrived in 2000 when we started seeing a large flood of interest in both performance, maintenance and repair-related Audi work. Over the years, Audi has continued to lead with innovations in German engineering and performance, bringing the famed RS models into the Audi lineup; RS2, RS3, RS4, RS5, RS6, RS7, R8. We are honored to be able to work with such advanced vehicles which are also forerunners in safety, ergonomics, aesthetics and understated luxury.
